This is a joint effort
between the Lions club of Henfield and the Henfield U14s football
team to raise funds for the Kenya project.
The event is a “screened”
horse race night where local businesses sponsor the different races,
race-goers can sponsor individual horses and bet at the tote on the
night. All proceeds after covering costs will go towards the
Henfield U14s Kenya football charity tour.
Tickets are on sale at the
Golden Square Chiropody Clinic (2 Brick Lane (off Cooper’s Way),
Henfield – opposite Village Hall car park) at £10 each. Price
includes entrance, sit down meal of Bangers and Mash, followed by
Apple pie and Custard and, of course, all the fun of the races.
There will also be a cash bar!
The Race Night will be held
at the Henfield Village Hall in Cooper’s Way (behind Budgens) and
starts at 6.30 p.m. and will conclude around 10.30 p.m.
The football team will be
expected to help sell raffle tickets as the “punters” arrive and
also serve and clear the tables in the main hall. The boys should
also be prepared to help out with some of the washing up and
cleaning if needed. Please wear normal football kit.
Could we also have one or
two of the Mums and Dads on standby during Saturday 28th
to help prepare the Mash please? All potatoes and bowls will be
supplied. If you are willing to help, please let David Bremner
(07941-987769) or Peter Stimpson (07813-684211) know.
This event is a really
important part of our fund-raising and is expected to raise
somewhere in the region of £1,000, so if we could get all the
players involved, that would really help, particularly as the Lions
are being so generous! Please can you or your son confirm with David
that they will be there. We will need them from 6.00 p.m. – approx
10.00 p.m. in full kit with trainers.
For further information and
tickets, please call David or Sammy at the Golden Square Chiropody
Clinic on 01273-493467.
